The Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts and baked goods while ensuring quality, consistency, and creativity in every dish. The role requires a balance of technical skill, artistry, and attention to detail, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

• Prepare and design a wide variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for the restaurant and events.
• Develop and test new pastry creations for seasonal menus and special occasions.
• Modify recipes based on customer feedback, dietary needs, and ingredient availability.
• Follow FIFO procedures to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Present pastries and desserts to the highest standard in both taste and appearance.
• Monitor ingredient quality, freshness, and proper storage practices.
• Manage pastry inventory, order supplies, and minimize wastage through effective stock control.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on new menu concepts and event-specific offerings.
• Participate in monthly stock takes and maintain accurate kitchen documentation.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
• Diploma or certificate in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
• Matric certificate required.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and maintain high service standards.
• Preference will be given to candidates residing in Franschhoek or nearby areas.
