Introduction

An established Luxury Hotel Group in the heart of Franschhoek is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join their award-winning culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a prestigious hospitality brand known for delivering exceptional guest experiences and refined dining excellence.

As a Chef de Partie, you will support the Senior CDP and Head Chef in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of your designated kitchen section. You’ll maintain the highest standards of food preparation, quality, and presentation to delight guests and uphold the hotel’s five-star reputation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with mise-en-place, including cutting, cooking, and plating as directed by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
  • Monitor and maintain food quality and presentation standards.
  • Prepare food requisitions and coordinate inter-kitchen transfers.
  • Adhere to FIFO procedures for food storage to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Properly store all surplus food at the end of each service.
  • Control portion sizes and reduce spoilage to manage food costs effectively.
  • Participate in monthly stock takes and ensure accurate kitchen inventory records.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper equipment handling at all times.
  • Attend training sessions or meetings as required by management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior kitchen management.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
  • Culinary qualification essential.
  • Matric certificate required.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Candidates residing in Franschhoek or nearby areas will be given preference.
