We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the smooth running of the housekeeping department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and be confident in leading and motivating a team.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant managerial role

  • Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or Housekeeping advantageous

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, standards, and cleaning products

  • Experience in managing staff schedules, training, and performance

  • Ability to maintain quality control and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems (PMS)

  • South African citizen with a valid ID

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing daily housekeeping operations

  • Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards

  • Conduct room and area inspections to monitor quality, cleanliness, and presentation

  • Support with scheduling, rostering, and training of housekeeping staff

  • Manage housekeeping supplies, stock control, and linen operations

  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Front Office teams to resolve guest or operational issues promptly

  • Assist with implementing and maintaining health, safety, and hygiene protocols

  • Support the motivation and development of the housekeeping team to deliver excellence in service
