Senior Accounting Manager- Hotel

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This pivotal role will support the Vice President of Finance in maintaining financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and upholding compliance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Process payroll journals, reconcile bank debits, and address variances.
• Prepare monthly accrual journals across all properties.
• Ensure income journals balance with the General Ledger and POS systems.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain compliance with accounting principles.
• Oversee accounts payable, ensuring timely reconciliation with vendor statements.
• Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports, ensuring timely submission.
• Assist in external audits and maintain financial records.
• Support the training and development of finance team members.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 5 years of hotel accounting/finance experience, including 2 years in a managerial role.
• Expertise in Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll, Credit, Audit, Inventory Control, and P&L preparation & analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle, Opera, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of state and local sales & occupancy tax requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, office-based role with occasional hotel walk-throughs.
• Employees must adhere to all company procedures and policies.
