What you'll be responsible for:
As a Maintenance Technician I, you’ll focus on routine maintenance tasks, preventative care, and responding to basic repair requests. You’ll help keep the property in excellent condition by handling minor repairs, supporting preventative maintenance, and assisting with larger projects under supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform basic repairs such as light bulb replacement, unclogging drains, patching walls, and minor carpentry or painting tasks.
- Assist with routine inspections of equipment (e.g., HVAC filters, plumbing fixtures, safety devices) and report issues promptly.
- Support outdoor upkeep, including light landscaping, snow removal, or debris cleanup.
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time.
- Follow safety procedures when using tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas and storage spaces.
- Provide courteous and timely responses to guest and staff requests.
- Assist Maintenance II and leadership staff with larger repairs or projects.
Success Measures
- Completes assigned checklists and basic repair tasks correctly and on time.
- Reports maintenance issues promptly and accurately to supervisors.
- Demonstrates safe tool and equipment use with zero preventable safety incidents.
- Consistently follows instructions and works well as part of the team.
- Shows steady skill growth by asking questions and applying learned techniques.
Qualifications
- Understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to troubleshoot and repair minor issues.
- Proficiency in carpentry, painting, and general repair tasks.
- Ability to diagnose issues and identify solutions to maintenance problems.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and staff regarding maintenance requests.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures.
- Experience using hand and electrical tools.
- Physical stamina and dexterity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to be on foot for long periods, up to 90% of day.
- Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, crawling, and/or bending throughout shift.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs from time to time.
