What you'll be responsible for:
The Housekeeper I is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks in guest rooms and public areas while following established SOPs and cleanliness standards. This is an entry-level role where employees learn hotel room layouts, develop cleaning skills, and contribute to the guest experience by maintaining a welcoming and hygienic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform basic room cleaning tasks including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Restock amenities such as toiletries, towels, and coffee supplies.
- Clean assigned public areas (hallways, stairwells, lobbies) following established cleaning protocols.
- Properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to training and SOPs.
- Report shortages of supplies, damaged items, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
Success Measures
- Completes assigned rooms/areas per shift in accordance with SOPs and brand standards.
- Maintains cleanliness scores at or above property benchmarks.
- Consistently demonstrates punctuality, reliability, and respectful teamwork.
- Adheres to all safety standards with zero preventable incidents.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks like bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with guests professionally.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures.
