Lodge Couple – Front of House Manager & Head Field Guide

Are you an experienced, mature couple with a shared passion for hospitality and the African bush? We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, for a dynamic duo to take on two key roles: <\/span>Front of House Manager<\/b> <\/span>and <\/span>Head Field Guide<\/b>.

This is a unique opportunity to join an intimate, well -established lodge that offers an authentic safari experience, situated in one of South Africa’s most serene natural settings.

1. Front of House Manager
<\/b>You will be the welcoming face of the lodge, responsible for delivering warm, attentive guest experiences from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organised, and committed to upholding service standards while nurturing a team culture that aligns with the lodge’s ethos.

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>

• Guest check -ins/outs, hosting, and concierge duties
  <\/p><\/li>

• Overseeing guest satisfaction and handling feedback professionally
  <\/p><\/li>

• Coordinating housekeeping and dining teams
  <\/p><\/li>

• Stock control, ordering, and basic lodge admin/reporting
  <\/p><\/li>

• Assisting with reservations, communication, and logistics
  <\/p><\/li>

• Upholding a strong front -of -house presence during service times
  <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

  2. Head Field Guide
  <\/b>You will lead all field -based activities, offering guests a memorable and safe wildlife experience while ensuring conservation protocols are respected. We’re looking for someone with a deep knowledge of the bush, strong guiding credentials, and the confidence to lead a team of junior guides and trackers.

  Key Responsibilities:<\/b>

  • Conduct daily game drives and bush walks
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Mentor and support guiding team
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Ensure vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Work closely with the lodge team to align guest activities with itineraries
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Maintain safety standards and compliance with guiding regulations
    <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    Requirements<\/h3>

    • Mature couple with prior lodge/hospitality experience<\/b> <\/span>in similar roles
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Willing to live and work full -time on -site in a remote bush environment
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong guest -first mindset
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a close -knit team
      <\/p><\/li>

    • South African citizenship or permanent residency preferred
      <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

      Front of House Manager:<\/b>
      <\/p>

      • Strong administrative and organisational skills
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Proficient in hospitality systems (e.g., NightsBridge, MS Office)
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Previous experience in guest relations or lodge management preferred
        <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        Head Field Guide:<\/span><\/b>
        <\/div>

        • Field Guide (NQF2) or <\/span><\/span><\/span>higher 
          <\/p><\/li>

        • Valid PDP and First Aid certification
          <\/p><\/li>

        • DEAT/THETA registered
          <\/p><\/li>

        • Rifle proficiency and competency (advantageous)
          <\/p><\/li><\/ul>
