Introduction

A well-established hotel is seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist to deliver exceptional front office service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure, while upholding the high service standards of the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all guests are checked in and checked out professionally, efficiently and courteously

  • Maintain a high standard of personal service to all guests, internal and external customers

  • Adhere strictly to front office policies and procedures, including front desk and switchboard duties

  • Handle guest queries relating to reservations, in-house requests, payments and post-departure services

  • Manage incoming messages, mail, deliveries and packages

  • Assist with reservations after hours or in the absence of the Reservations department

  • Support the Sales & Marketing team by promoting hotel facilities and services

  • Ensure effective communication between Reception and all operational departments

  • Stay informed of hospitality industry trends and suggest improvements to front desk operations

  • Assist with the induction and training of new staff members and students

  • Carry out additional duties as required by management from time to time

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • As least two years’ experience in the Hotel industry, in a similar position
  • Computer literate
  • Front Office and Cashiering experience, an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English
  • Display a high level of emotional intelligence and be well groomed.
  • Customer orientation, professional charm and sophistication is an advantage
  • Ability to work shifts and occasional overtime
