Guest Relations Officer / Hotel Reception – Stellenbosch
Salary: Negotiable DOE

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a professional and guest-focused Guest Relations Officer / Hotel Receptionist to join a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality, excellent administrative skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and introduce guests to the property, ensuring a warm and professional first impression

  • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately

  • Communicate all relevant guest information to the appropriate departments

  • Assist guests with bookings, tours, transfers, and itinerary planning

  • Ensure all guest information, billing, and rates are correct in the system

  • Liaise with external guests and provide assistance to the on-site restaurant as required

  • Update guest profiles and booking details on Protel

  • Report maintenance concerns promptly to the manager on duty

  • Prepare welcome letters, registration cards, and guest documentation

  • Manage and maintain:

    • Day sheets (guest itinerary documents)

    • Guest call logs and communication records

    • Booking and message coordination for lodge guests

  • Support the Reservations, Spa, Housekeeping, and Restaurant teams as needed

  • Handle lunch and dinner bookings using Dine-plan

  • Conduct thorough handovers between shifts, including coordination with the Night Auditor

  • Ensure all transfers are booked, tracked, and correctly charged

  • Perform night audit duties twice per month

Requirements:

  • Hospitality Certificate or Diploma

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar front office or guest relations role

  • Strong computer literacy and administrative abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Passion for hospitality and guest service excellence

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage with a distinguished clientele

  • Professional, well-presented, and approachable manner

  • Punctual, proactive, and self-disciplined with exceptional attention to detail

  • Team player with a positive attitude and natural warmth

  • Reliable transport to and from work
