Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times, greeting all guests warmly and professionally in accordance with company standards.

  • Understand the sequence of service and anticipate guest needs.

  • Handle guest complaints and comments professionally, escalating to the Restaurant Manager or Manager on Duty when necessary.

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the menu and wine list, making informed recommendations.

  • Ensure prompt and accurate service of drinks to pool and restaurant guests.

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of cocktails and be able to craft them on request.

  • Accurately enter all transactions into the Easipos system.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.

  • The candidate must have a Matric Certificate.

  • Assist guests with non-menu items, responding positively and accommodating special requests where possible.

  • Check and re-stock the coffee station for each service or shift to ensure a smooth barista service.

  • Perform cleaning tasks as required, including polishing cutlery and glassware, cleaning floors, fridges, windows, and service areas such as buffet stations.

  • Light and maintain the fire in the restaurant and bar during winter months.

  • Always complete the shift cash-up and have the Manager on Duty check and sign it off.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • A wine certificate course or mixology training would be beneficial.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position in a 5-star establishment is required.

  • The candidate must have knowledge of bar set-up, drinks service, and bar hygiene, including excellent cocktail knowledge.

  • The candidate must be familiar with operating procedures for all Food and Beverage machines, equipment, and tools.

  • Proficiency in POS systems is required (Easipos preferred).

  • The candidate must be guest service orientated.
