The Opportunity: The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the overall operations of the housekeeping department by supervising staff, maintaining quality and cleanliness standards, and ensuring a well-organized, guest-ready environment throughout the club’s facilities. This leadership role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations while upholding the highest standards of service and presentation.

 

Duties and Functions

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, locker rooms, and event spaces.
  • Supervise, train, and support housekeeping staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to club standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest areas and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Monitor staff scheduling, timekeeping, and productivity to optimize department performance.
  • Respond to member and guest service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Help coordinate housekeeping services for events, VIP guests, and special functions.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards and club policies.
  • Serve as acting department leader in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.

 

Qualification Standards

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality or management preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety standards, and sanitation protocols.
  • Proficiency with housekeeping management systems and Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required.
