The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Travel Desk Agent to join our Front Office team.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and guest-focused Travel Desk Agent to assist guests with tours, transfers, and travel arrangements while providing exceptional service and personalised recommendations. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding attractions, a strong network of travel and tour suppliers, and proven hotel travel desk or concierge experience.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a travel desk, concierge, or tourism-related role within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment

  • Diploma or certificate in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or Travel advantageous

  • Strong knowledge of Cape Town’s attractions, tours, restaurants, and cultural experiences

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills with the ability to upsell tours and services

  • Proficiency in Opera PMS (advantageous) and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to liaise with local tour operators, transport providers, and event organisers

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays

  • South African citizen with a valid ID

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist guests with booking tours, excursions, transfers, and restaurant reservations

  • Provide professional recommendations on attractions, cultural sites, and local experiences

  • Manage guest enquiries promptly and accurately, ensuring memorable guest experiences

  • Maintain excellent relationships with local tour operators, suppliers, and transport providers

  • Handle reservations, confirmations, payments, and cancellations efficiently

  • Promote and upsell hotel facilities, events, and partner experiences to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue

  • Work closely with the Front Office and Concierge teams to provide seamless guest services

  • Maintain detailed records of bookings, payments, and supplier invoices

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, service standards, and guest safety requirements
