The Sheraton Eatontown Hotel is seeking a passionate culinary professional to join our award-winning team as a Sous Chef. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a flair for high-volume food preparation and presentation, we want to hear from you. The role of Sous Chef is responsible for properly preparing food in a timely manner, while maintaining the highest level of health standards. The Sous Chef should be familiar with the day-to-day operations of the hotel’s kitchen which includes cooking for the on-site restaurant, room service, and all hotel functions.

Requirements

  

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook various items while maintaining high levels of health standards
  • Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, grills, broilers, etc 
  • Encourage your team members and contribute to a positive, productive workplace
  • Help ensure compliance with our F&B policies and procedures
  • Be willing to accept constructive feedback and use it as a tool for growth
  • Achieve consistent results while managing demanding deadlines
  • Always strive for exceptional guest service and satisfaction
  • Assist in reviewing and monitoring supplies and inventory

Compensation and Benefits include:

  • This position offers a starting wage that ranges from $40k-$50k annually depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Full time employees will have the opportunity to earn paid time-off and join the company's health, dental, vision, and retirement plans (once qualified).

Job Qualifications:

  • Time management
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • ServSafe Certification preferred 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • 1 to 2 years of restaurant experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, kneel, squat, bend
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more and push/pull 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to use basic kitchen equipment such as knives, stoves, etc
