Part time Restaurant Server
- Current open position will be part time (less than 30 hrs per week)
Job Requirements:
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, AM or PM as needed.
- Deliver exceptional service consistently
- Anticipate and service guests’ needs
- Greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture
- Recognize regular guests and greet them by name
- Offer guests an enjoyable, expertly served dining experience with quality, professionalism and friendliness
- Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
- Be familiar with the menus, including preparation and ingredients
- Be familiar with wine list, cocktail list, and beverage service including stemware used
- Complete opening and closing sidework as assigned and have all tables set according to standards
- Provide confident and educated advice on menu options as well as food and beverage pairings, including daily features
- Preset tables with appropriate items for each course when necessary
- Ensure correct and efficient order taking
- Carry trays with all food and beverage items
- Pre-buss tables to clear any dirty silverware, glassware, or debris whenever possible
- Ascertain guests’ satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise by informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
- Recognize and address potential intoxicated or disruptive guests to be addressed by a manager, and ensure responsible sale and consumption of alcohol
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the hotel standards
Additional Requirements:
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years food and beverage experience
- Great wine and food knowledge
- Ability to work alone without direct supervision
- Teamwork
- Follow uniform guidelines including a clean, complete uniform, including pens, lighter, wine key, server book, and must maintain person grooming standards set by hotel
- Assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
- Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by fostering a harmonious working climate
- Positive work ethic
Physical Demand:
- Continuous standing and walking
- Negotiating wet tile floor and steps
- Fine motor coordination is needed
- Tray carrying, rolling carts and hot plates
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs
