PASTRY COOK - BANQUETS

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate pastry cook who will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods with precision and creativity, while upholding the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Full-Time
$16-$18 Hourly
Responsibilities
• Prepare a wide range of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods for banquet events
• Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality
• Assemble and decorate desserts according to banquet event orders and Executive Chef specifications
• Produce specialty desserts for special requests and dietary requirements
• Coordinate pastry production with banquet event timelines and service schedules
• Ensure all desserts are ready and delivered to the proper location on time
• Communicate effectively with banquet chefs, banquet team, and management
• Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Properly label, date, and store all ingredients and finished products
• Conduct taste tests and visual inspections to ensure all desserts meet quality standards
• Suggest recipe changes to correct any issues with texture, flavor, or cost
• Monitor pastry inventory levels and inform chefs of low stock or supply needs
• Assist in receiving and storing all kitchen ingredients and supplies
• Safely operate, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Assist and collaborate with all kitchen team members
• Contribute ideas for new dessert offerings
• Stay updated on dessert trends and techniques to enhance offerings
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or in a similar role
• Solid understanding of basic kitchen operations, including reading and following recipes, recipe development, knife handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen etiquette
• Ability to take direction and accept constructive feedback
• Strong planning skills with the ability to anticipate prep tasks for both same-day and next-day production
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
• Able to lift 50 lbs. or more as needed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and hot kitchen environment
