Description

SUMMARY:

Patrol, inspect, and secure the property to protect the assets and safety of all entities connected to the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold and enforce all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.
  • Report all incidents that occur on shift to respective Security Supervisor in both written and verbal format.
  • Maintain order by providing a presence throughout the property.
  • Stay informed of all incidents that occur and take action as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of location and use of all fire and security systems.
  • Understand the evacuation plan and the duties as an Area Warden within 3 months of date of hire.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Must be able to obtain a Coeur d’Alene tribal gaming license.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide evidence of a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience preferred. 
  • Certifications in handcuffing and defensive tactics preferred.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Six months of previous related experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must be able to pass a physical fitness test prior to being hired.
  • Must type 25 words per minute.
  • Basic problem-solving skills required (pre-screened by written test).
  • CPR and/or first aid training preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills preferred.
  • Must be skilled at multi-tasking.
  • Must be able to react calmly under pressure. 
  • Must be able to perform under minimal supervision.

Trainings:

  • Must complete training within initial 90 days of probation. Training provided by the Coeur d’Alene Casino Security team
  • Must be able to complete CPR/First Aid training
  • Must be able to complete Security Incident reporting training
  • Must be able to complete De-escalation training
  • Must be able to complete Defensive tactics training
  • Must be able to participate and execute all emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • Must have an outgoing and enthusiastic attitude.  Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests and employees
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, directions, correspondence and memos.  The ability to write reports, fill out forms and statements in detail and clarity. The ability to verbally present information to guests, employees in a clear professional manner.

Physical Demands:

This job is classified as a medium strength category position.  A person working in this position will exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work in confined spaces; stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
