Our client is based in the North West Brits district. They are seeking a SAP Payroll Consultant to join their team for 6 months and there might be a possibility of extension.
This is a hybrid role, work remotely and attend meetings at the office in Brits.

Duties & Responsibilities

The SAP Payroll Consultant will focus on technical configuration, development, integrations, and troubleshooting to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll processing. This role requires strong expertise in SAP Payroll architecture and system integrations, working closely with functional consultants, HR stakeholders, and IT teams.
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and development for SAP Payroll solutions (e.g., SAP HCM Payroll or S/4HANA Payroll).
  • Design, configure, and maintain payroll schemas, rules, and PCRs in collaboration with functional consultants.
  • Support payroll runs, retro calculations, and off-cycle payroll from a technical perspective.
  • Build and maintain integrations between SAP Payroll and third-party systems (banks, tax authorities, benefits providers, time management systems).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies, system errors, and performance issues.
  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, patches, and migrations, including S/4HANA.
  • Ensure compliance with local payroll legislation by implementing technical updates and regulatory changes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and support procedures.
  • Support testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve payroll automation, data accuracy, and system reliability.
  • Ensure that services provided are of the highest possible standards.
  • High Information Standards to minimise redundancies and enhance information quality.
SAP PAYROLL ACTIVITIES
1.          Provide technical support and development for SAP Payroll solutions (e.g., SAP HCM Payroll or S/4HANA Payroll).
2.          Design, configure, and maintain payroll schemas, rules, and PCRs in collaboration with functional consultants.

11.      Ensure that services provided are of the highest possible standards.
12.      Attend account, customer, service, and global Service Improvement Manager meetings as required.

FORMAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
1.          Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2.          SAP certifications in HCM or Payroll.

ADVANTAGEOUS
1.          SAP S/4HANA Payroll
 
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1.           3+ years of hands-on experience as a SAP Payroll Technical Consultant.
2.           Strong knowledge of SAP HCM Payroll architecture, schemas, rules, and PCRs.
3.           Experience with SAP HR/Payroll integrations (IDocs, APIs, file-based interfaces).
4.           Solid understanding of payroll processes, retroactivity, and payroll control framework.
5.           Experience supporting country-specific payroll configurations.
6.           Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
7.           Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
8.           Experience with SAP S/4HANA Payroll
9.           Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments.
10.       Mining experience
