The Restaurant Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the leadership and supervision of all front-of-house operations within the Horseshoe Restaurant & Bar. The position ensures consistent adherence to service standards, operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies. This role works under the direction of the Food & Beverage Director, Food & Beverage Manager, and Kitchen Manager while providing direct oversight and support to FOH employees. Full shift flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and major Deadwood event periods.
- Oversee front-of-house operations to ensure efficient and consistent service.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of FOH areas.
- Ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are completed accurately.
- Monitor guest flow and service timing.
- Coordinate with the Kitchen Manager on order accuracy and communication.
- Supervise and support FOH employees.
- Provide training, coaching, and corrective action.
- Enforce dress code, grooming standards, and conduct requirements.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluations.
- Address guest issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain visibility on the floor to assist guests and staff.
- Ensure all FOH staff deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
- Enforce PPE policies and safety procedures.
- Complete incident reports and follow-up actions.
- Maintain accuracy in POS management, including voids, discounts, and cash handling.
- Assist with inventory and waste control.
- Support menu changes, specials, and promotions.
- Communicate operational concerns and staffing needs to management.
- 3–5 years of proven restaurant or hospitality management experience (required).
- Strong leadership ability with experience enforcing policies and maintaining accountability.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and alcohol service laws.
- Proficiency in POS systems and manager-level functions.
- Full availability for all shifts, weekends, holidays, and major events.
- Reliable attendance and professional conduct.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in a high-volume environment.
- Fast-paced casino restaurant setting.
- Exposure to noise, kitchen equipment, and fluctuating temperatures.
