Key Responsibilities

  • Handle phone and email enquiries regarding reservations

  • Process reservations, including cancellations and changes, accurately and efficiently using Opera

  • Update booking systems with new reservations and amendments

  • Manage and update all channel bookings with the correct information as received via email

  • Ensure detailed billing instructions are accurately captured

  • Monitor room availability and manage overbooking situations effectively

  • Ensure all special requests and requirements are accommodated

  • Prepare reservation activity reports

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all clients

  • Stay informed about hotel activities and offerings, proactively upselling to guests where possible

  • Resolve reservation-related issues or complaints professionally

  • Assist with administrative tasks as required

  • Support the hotel in achieving prescribed monthly targets, maximizing booking revenue, and preventing unnecessary revenue loss

  • Demonstrate a collaborative and supportive team ethic

Requirements

  • Matric certificate

  • Hotel diploma or degree advantageous

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a busy, high-demand environment

  • Basic understanding of revenue management and yield management principles

  • Basic accounting knowledge

  • Computer literate (MS Office, Opera essential)

  • Experience with GDS operating systems and website intranets

  • Willingness to work various shifts as required
