The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Reception Shift Leader to join our Front Office team.
We are seeking a guest-focused and experienced Reception Shift Leader with a strong background in hotel front office operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, have excellent communication and organisational skills, and be confident in leading the reception team during their shift to ensure seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure.
Minimum 4 years’ front office experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment
At least 2 years’ proven experience as a Shift Leader or Front Office Supervisor
Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management advantageous
Proficiency in Opera PMS (essential) and other hotel systems
Strong knowledge of front office operations, guest relations, and reservations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a guest-centric approach
Proven ability to supervise, coach, and motivate staff
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
Professional, well-presented, and detail oriented
South African citizen with a valid ID
Supervise and lead the reception team during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth front desk operations
Oversee guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and billing with accuracy and professionalism
Handle guest queries, complaints, and special requests, ensuring swift resolution and guest satisfaction
Conduct shift briefings, allocate duties, and monitor performance of front office staff
Support training and development of reception team members
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, and brand standards
Work closely with Housekeeping, Concierge, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations
Perform cash-ups, maintain accurate shift records, and assist with reporting as required
Represent management in their absence, ensuring professional standards are maintained at all times
Must hold a valid South African ID
