SUMMARY
The Purchasing / Receiving Clerk ("Recepcionista de Mercancías") coordinates the daily procurement, storage, and issuance of all hotel food and beverage as well as its operating supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Receives products from vendor deliveries and unloads trucks at the loading dock.
  • Compares packing lists to company purchase orders and ensures that the products in each delivery match the packing list.
  • Updates the product inventory as products are received and added to our inventory.
  • Packages products for return to vendors and fills out any paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up.
  • Follows department standards to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
  • Coordinates the issuance and control of all support materials necessary for the daily business levels.
  • Prepares a daily invoice receiving the report.
  • Uses and ensures that storage equipment (i.e.; shelving, walk-in boxes, scales etc.) are properly stocked and well-organized.
  • Ensures the proper rotation of all perishable items (FIFO).
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training. If no educational background, at least 1 year.
  • A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Current industry certifications required: Current, unexpired, driver’s license with no recent violations.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
