Scope of Position

The Private Event Sales Specialist’s primary responsibility is to assist the Private Event Sales Manager in all aspects of lead generation, to contracting and billing, as it pertains to Outlet private/large group sales. This includes Bourbon Steak, Corsair Kitchen + Bar, SOFFs, and Tidal Cove. He/she will be responsible for greeting/meeting prospects, scheduling property tours, processing contracts, selling events, soliciting new leads, and ensuring billing satisfaction.

 

Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
  • Detail oriented, quality focused and resourceful with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills to implement multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external clients.
  • CI/TY, OpenTable, Galaxy, Canva experience preferred.

 

Responsibilities

  • Qualify leads, schedule appointments and meet/greet prospects.
  • Prepare and conduct outlet/space tours.
  • Actively use sales training skills to increase productivity and negotiate more lucrative contracted events.
  • Identify sales opportunities by engaging in outbound sales to generate new leads.
  • Up-sell products and services throughout the contracting and event process.
  • Act as the liaison between the Private Event Sales Manager and client throughout the onsite process (pre-event, event, and post-event).
  • Participate in client meetings for assigned groups.
  • Ensure billing accuracy and provide clients with receipts/final billing.
  • Follow-up with client post-event.
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
  • Maintain and monitor private event sales collateral, promotional material, and inventory
  • Create and print menus for events.
  • Attend meetings with outlets to review upcoming event details.
  • Coordinate marketing projects.
  • Provide sales assistance to the Private Event Sales Manager where necessary.

Education

  • Degree in marketing or communication and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality or related industry.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Word (Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Comfortable with the use of the internet as a research tool.

 

Physical Requirements

  • On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.
  • Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.
  • Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
  • Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
