Are you a hands-on leader with experience in building maintenance and team supervision? We're looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to support the daily operation of our hotel. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and overseeing repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency fixes, all while leading by example and supporting a positive team culture. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our hotel stays safe, comfortable, and fully functional for all guests and staff.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete maintenance work orders on time and prioritize urgent or guest-impacting issues.

  • Be hands-on: understand and participate in maintenance tasks when needed.

  • Supervise the maintenance team and step in for the Maintenance Manager when they’re away.

  • Make sure all team members follow hotel procedures and safety standards.

  • Check that all building systems and equipment are working properly; complete routine maintenance on a set schedule.

  • Keep maintenance logs updated using the hotel's maintenance software.

  • Supervise outside contractors working on repairs, renovations, or installations in the hotel.

  • Train and guide team members on basic repairs like plumbing, carpentry, drywall, electrical, and tiling.

  • Manage the upkeep of the hot tub and sauna, including chemical levels and temperature control, following health regulations.

  • Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe; maintain a professional appearance at all times.

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment; respond quickly to any emergency or safety issue.

  • Make sure all tools, equipment, and systems meet provincial and federal safety standards.

  • Help maintain records and manuals for all equipment in the hotel.

  • Address guest complaints related to maintenance and work to resolve them quickly and professionally.

  • Work closely with other departments to provide smooth, uninterrupted service to guests.

  • Promote workplace safety rules, including WHMIS and emergency procedures.

  • Take on additional tasks or assignments as needed by management or guests.

 

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma minimum; post‑secondary technical/trade training preferred.

  • Several years of experience in maintenance work, including hands‑on trade tasks (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.).

  • Previous supervisory experience overseeing teams and contractors.

  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance planning.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, WHMIS, emergency response procedures, health standards (pool/sauna regulations).

  • Ability to prioritize work, problem‑solve, and make decisions under pressure.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills.

  • Reliability, professional appearance, and ability to lead by example.
