SUMMARY
The Corporate Leisure Sales Manager ("Gerente de Ventas de Viajes de Ocio") is a savoir-faire travel professional with experience in the mid-level to high-end luxury travel marketplace. Responsibilities include maximizing resort revenue by daily analysis of non-group room revenues to ensure maximum yield, selling guest accommodations, negotiation of FIT agreements, managing current accounts, onsite site inspections, soliciting new accounts for all Evans Hotels: Bahia Resort Hotel, Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, guest fulfilment requests as well as seamless interaction with all departments of the hotel, and maintaining strong client relationships with travel agencies, wholesale operators, tour operators, and receptive operators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Convey a favorable image of the hotels with a positive, professional image
  • Plan and implement direct sales calls and online and office presentations to FIT Wholesale operators, receptive operators, and travel agents
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to confidently communicate features, benefits, and competitive advantages to customers
  • Manage, develop, and maintain relationships with consortia
  • Maintain T/A inquiry emails, reservations, and calls in a timely manner
  • Plan /coordinate agent appreciation & education receptions
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and negotiate contract agreements with customers
  • Participate in tradeshow activities, industry events, and other networking opportunities
  • Arrange FAM/Site inspection trips to hotels by major clients and accompany clients 
  • Maintain high hotel exposure in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contacts, and written communications
  • Actively cultivate new accounts and telemarket while consistently maintaining profitable relationships with existing key accounts
  • Maintain the properties page on travel consortia partners' websites, ensuring all the information and marketing material provided is up to date
  • Provide travel consortia with quarterly information requested as required by partnership agreements
  • Aggressively contribute to the company's financial growth by maintaining rate integrity and up-selling hotel amenities
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan in target market segments in conjunction with the Corporate Director of Leisure Sales & Partnerships
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal relationship skills with a professional approach to both internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure travel consortia presentations and property marketing material are up to date
  • Support the Corporate Director of Leisure Sales and Partnerships and the sales teams professionally and seek out new projects and assignments
  • Assist the Corporate Director of Leisure Sales and Partnerships in developing the hotel's marketing plan and quarterly action plans
  • Attend weekly sales meetings to review groups; resolve any discrepancies (participation can be through teleconferencing.) Mandatory personal attendance may be required periodically
  • Undertake other responsibilities as directed by the Corporate Director of Leisure Sales and Partnerships

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Superior knowledge of CRS, GDS, and PMS systems. Knowledge of sales and catering management software is required.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.

  • Business travel is required to build and maintain relationships in Corporate and Leisure markets.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
