Job Summary

 

The Laundry Attendant plays a critical role in ensuring the hotel consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences by maintaining a steady supply of clean, well-presented linens and textiles. This position is responsible for the efficient operation of laundry processes, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens throughout the property, while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and safety. By supporting the smooth functioning of guest rooms, dining areas, and other hotel facilities, the Laundry Attendant directly contributes to both guest satisfaction and the overall financial success of the hotel.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Separate and wash/dry all laundry and linens
  • Properly treat and remove stains
  • Iron linens and sheets
  • Fold and sort all laundry
  • Track all laundry to ensure it is returned to whom it belongs
  • Perform minor sewing duties as needed
  • Prepare the machines for daily service
  • Clean lint traps of equipment
  • Maintain a tidy and clean workplace
  • Maintain the inventory level of needed supplies
  • Anticipate and respond to customers queries, concerns and complaints
  • All other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
  • Previous experience in a related field preferred but not required

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, stooping, reaching, walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling
  • Must be able to frequently lift above the head
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Working Conditions

  • Primarily indoors
  • Exposure to a somewhat noisy environment
  • Exposure to elevated temperatures in the laundry room
  • Exposure to cleaning detergents and solutions (proper PPE provided)
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids
