POSITION OVERVIEW

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the proper cleaning and all linen and terry. They load and unload all washers and dryers, fold, sort, and move finished product to their appropriate storage area. They are responsible for the correct ratio of chemicals and managing inventory levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain positive guest and resident relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Assist Housepersons or Room Attendants to clean and replenish guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to hotel standards, as needed.
  • Deliver requested items to guest rooms promptly and courteously.
  • Complete accurately, and in a timely manner, any assigned work.
  • Maintain cleanliness levels in public areas of the hotel including guest hallways and housekeeping closets.
  • Move and organize linen carts.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies.
  • Report any defects to the corresponding areas responsible.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of equipment and use only as intended.
  • Maintain a professional and personable appearance at all times, according to hotel standards.

  • Successfully achieve the hotel’s core competencies including work product, teamwork and culture, guest and customer service, work ethic, and impact-oriented problem solver.
  • All other duties as requested.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training required.
  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail and speed and accuracy with the ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on own and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.
  • Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
