The Houseperson, plays an essential role in supporting the housekeeping team and ensuring that all guest areas, public spaces, and service corridors reflect the elegance and high standards of our hotel. This position requires attention to detail, pride in presentation, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment that exceeds guest expectations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Housekeeping department by maintaining cleanliness and order throughout guest corridors, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Collect and transport soiled linens and trash from guest rooms and service areas to designated locations.
  • Replenish linen closets with clean linens, guest supplies, and amenities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in service areas, including storage rooms and linen closets.
  • Safely remove trash and debris from floors and deliver it to the compactor or disposal area.
  • Move or reposition furniture as requested for deep cleaning or guest needs.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain the pool area, outdoor spaces, and hotel grounds to reflect the property’s luxury standards.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a secure and healthy environment for guests and team members.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance and always represent the hotel’s values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the housekeeping leadership team.
  • Deep clean guest rooms.  This includes washing walls, ceilings, vents, windows, balconies, and furniture.  Turning and flipping mattresses.

     

     

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping or hotel experience preferred; luxury experience a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining an immaculate environment.
    • Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 150 lbs. and exert physical effort transporting or lifting 20–75 lbs. overhead.
    • Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, shoulders, and back.
    • Must be able to remain on foot for extended periods and maintain stamina throughout the shift.
