Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure a clean, orderly, and attractive environment in all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role involves managing housekeeping staff, monitoring quality standards, handling inventory, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure standards are met.
Assign duties and tasks to housekeeping staff and maintain work schedules.
Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and company policies.
Ensure that housekeeping supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stocked.
Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and coaching.
Enforce health and safety regulations and promote a clean, safe working environment.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
Maintain records related to room occupancy, inspections, and inventory.
Coordinate with the front office and other departments to ensure timely room readiness.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or housekeeping is a plus.
Proven experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to train and motivate staff.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safe handling practices.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
