Position Title: Maintenance Worker
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor and General Manager

Position Summary

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for supporting the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of the hotel property. This role plays a vital part in ensuring all guest-facing and operational areas are well maintained and functioning efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess general knowledge in maintenance disciplines such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, often responding to issues with urgency and professionalism. Availability on weekends and holidays is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time in a clean, professional uniform.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel property, including guest rooms, corridors, public spaces, and exterior areas.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, including those that occur after hours when necessary.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections in all guest rooms and key operational areas on a routine quarterly basis.
  • Maintain communication with the Front Desk and Housekeeping to ensure timely updates on room readiness and maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate effectively with outside vendors and service providers when specialized work is required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, task records, and inspection documentation.
  • Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and local building codes when performing tasks.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure availability and readiness for all tasks.
  • Ensure all hotel keys are secured and key control protocols are followed.
  • Uphold the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards by promptly removing debris and maintaining organized work areas.
  • Communicate promptly with the Maintenance Supervisor and General Manager regarding property conditions, project updates, and any urgent issues.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull regularly throughout shift.

Skills & Qualifications

  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to follow safety and maintenance procedures accurately.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
