The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Hotel Duty Manager to join our team.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily hotel operations across all departments, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a hands-on approach, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hotel operations or management, preferably in a 4- or 5-star environment
Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field advantageous
Strong knowledge of front office, F&B, housekeeping, and guest services operations
Proven leadership and people management skills
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities
Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgets and cost control
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
South African citizen with a valid ID
Oversee the smooth running of daily operations across all hotel departments
Act as the primary contact for guest relations, ensuring high service standards and immediate resolution of issues
Lead, guide, and support department heads and teams to achieve performance goals
Conduct operational inspections, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and service standards
Manage staff rosters, daily briefings, and operational planning to optimise efficiency
Support the coordination of special events, conferences, and VIP guest requirements
Monitor financial performance, assist with cost control, and contribute to revenue enhancement strategies
Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between departments
Uphold the hotel’s brand values, policies, and guest experience standards
Must hold a valid South African ID
