The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Back of House Manager to join our team.

We are seeking a meticulous and solutions-driven Back of House Manager to take full responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of all support functions that keep the hotel operating seamlessly behind the scenes. The ideal candidate will have strong operational knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and a track record in managing non-guest-facing teams and processes within the hospitality sector.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in back-of-house or hotel operations management

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Operations, or related field advantageous

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping support, laundry operations, stewarding, procurement, and stores management

  • Experience in cost control, stock management, and supplier negotiations

  • Good understanding of compliance: health, safety, hygiene, and labour regulations

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple departments while maintaining efficiency

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel systems (PMS, inventory management software)

  • South African citizen with a valid ID

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all back-of-house operations, including laundry, housekeeping logistics, stewarding, kitchen support, and storerooms

  • Ensure safe, hygienic, and well-maintained staff facilities and service areas

  • Oversee stock control, procurement, and supplier deliveries, ensuring cost-effective and timely supply of goods

  • Drive efficiency in BOH processes to support front-of-house service delivery

  • Implement and monitor compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations

  • Train, supervise, and motivate back-of-house staff to deliver operational excellence

  • Conduct regular BOH inspections and audits, implementing improvements where needed

  • Collaborate with Executive Chef, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Duty Managers to ensure seamless operational support

  • Report on BOH operations, costs, and performance to senior management
