Job Title: Mid Level to Senior Estimator – Commercial Retail Restaurants Hotels – all trades

Location: New Jersey / New York Metro Area

Position Type: Full-Time

Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Mid Level to Senior Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in preparing detailed estimates across all trades for diverse project types, including commercial, retail, hospitality, hotel, multifamily, and corporate developments. Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff software is essential.​

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs across all construction trades using On-Screen Takeoff software.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on project scopes and budgets.
• Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities in the bidding process.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and databases for future reference.
• Participate in value engineering processes to optimize project costs without compromising quality.​

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, with exposure to various project types.
• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff software; familiarity with additional estimating tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes in NJ and NY.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.​

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with projects in the NJ and NY metropolitan areas.
• Familiarity with local subcontractor markets and pricing trends.
• Knowledge of BIM tools and other digital estimating platforms.​
