Fundamental Responsibilities

  • In this role, you'll go above and beyond to win business, surprise guests with exceptional service, and lead a team to success
  • Proactive solicitation of new business to achieve revenue goals
  • Sell meeting space, food & beverage, and sleeping rooms. Ensure successful execution of the team's monthly action plans
  • Target accounts, markets, or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation
  • Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders
  • Ensure customers and clients are delighted
  • Set sales strategies to achieve overall property goals for both rate and occupancy
  • Work closely with the hotel and sales teams to capture group business in all segments including corporate, SMERF, and transient business
  • Participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events while representing the company in a professional manner
  • Meet monthly revenue goals for both room and catering sales
  • Strive for consistent improvement in Guest Satisfaction scores
  • Maintaining existing accounts and developing future business. 
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies, and trade organizations
  • Assume a leadership role within the hotel executive team, including serving as Manager on Duty during the absence of the General Manager.
  • Report directly to the General Manager
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hotel's needs

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in sales is preferred 
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred 
  • Must be a personable and outgoing individual 
  • Hardworking and flexible, with a preference for roles beyond a standard 9-5 schedule
