About the Role

As Director of People & Culture for Four Seasons Hotel Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake, you will be a key member of the Planning Committee, contributing to the strategic and operational direction of the hotel. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead all aspects of the People & Culture division, ensuring the hotel attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering a culture that reflects the values of Four Seasons. You will be an integral part of shaping the employee experience and supporting leaders across the hotel in creating a workplace built on trust, care, and growth.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the People & Culture Function: Oversee all areas including recruitment, employee relations, career development, learning and development, benefits administration, and compliance with Vietnamese labour law.
  • Drive Engagement and Culture: Implement strategies that promote an inclusive workplace, high engagement, and the Four Seasons culture of treating others as you wish to be treated.
  • Ensure Compliance and Best Practice: Manage wage and hour compliance, contracts, compensation structures, and employee communications in line with corporate guidelines and local regulations.
  • Strengthen Talent and Succession: Build a strong pipeline of future leaders through structured career planning, succession planning, and development programmes.
  • Support Leaders and Teams: Partner with department heads to coach and develop leadership capabilities, monitor performance, and manage disciplinary actions consistently and fairly.
  • Deliver Learning Excellence: Analyse training needs across the hotel and create impactful programmes that ensure employees deliver Four Seasons standards and are prepared for internal promotion.
  • Manage Budgets and Resources: Prepare, monitor, and review the Human Resources budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while supporting employee engagement activities.
  • Foster Communication: Ensure clear, effective, and timely communication with all employees, leveraging the right channels to engage different audiences.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Hospitality, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a Director of People & Culture (or equivalent senior HR leadership role) within the luxury hospitality sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Vietnamese labour law and HR compliance requirements.
  • A proven track record in talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse workforce data, manage budgets, and contribute to strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • A collaborative and empathetic leadership style, with the integrity and discretion required to handle sensitive employee matters.
  • Fluency in both Vietnamese and English.
