The Role
The Director of Hotel Operations will assist the General Manager by leading and managing hotel operations, with a strong focus on the very busy Food & Beverage department, including conferences and events. This pivotal leadership role ensures operational excellence, seamless guest experiences, and compliance with brand standards, while overseeing both the Rooms Division and Food & Beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in leading and managing all hotel operations, with particular emphasis on the Food & Beverage department, including conferences and events.
- Oversee daily operations of Front Office, Housekeeping, Restaurants, Bars, and Banqueting departments.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth and efficient hotel operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency, cost control, and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with all brand standards, health and safety regulations, and local laws.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and guest-centric service.
- Monitor guest feedback and proactively implement improvements to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Manage operational budgets and forecasts aligned with the hotel’s financial goals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in hotel operations leadership, preferably within international branded hotels, with at least 3 to 5 years in the following positions. Operations Manager, Deputy General Manager, Director of Operations. 100 rooms and more.
- Strong expertise in Food & Beverage management alongside Rooms Division operations.
- Experience working in Africa is highly advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and inspire multicultural teams in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
- Degree or relevant professional qualification in Hospitality Management or related field.
Additional Information for Applicants
- Single status application. Package is net US Dollars market-related and will be discussed during the shortlist stage.
- Contract: 1-year contract, renewable for a second year.
