We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Director of Hotel Operations reporting to the General Manager for a small hotel resort, to lead day-to-day operations with excellence. This is a highly visible role for a seasoned hospitality leader who thrives in an operational environment, is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, and knows how to inspire and develop high-performing teams and create an exceptional experience for our guests.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic operational oversight with a roll-up-the-sleeves approach to ensure our hotel consistently meets performance goals in profitability, service quality, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all hotel operations including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Security & Risk, and the Information Technology Departments.
 
- Ensure operational efficiency, cost control, and compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
 
- Conduct frequent property inspections to maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
 
Guest Experience & Service Delivery
- Serve as a visible ambassador of the guest experience, personally addressing guest concerns and feedback.
 
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and implement targeted improvements.
 
- Maintain a culture of excellence where every guest interaction is memorable.
 
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate department heads and staff to deliver consistent, top-tier performance.
 
- Build a strong service culture by setting clear expectations and recognizing team contributions.
 
- Drive training initiatives to improve employee skills, engagement, and retention.
 
Financial Performance
- Manage departmental budgets, monitor revenue and expenses, and ensure profitability targets are achieved.
 
- Collaborate with ownership/GM to execute strategic initiatives that enhance revenue growth and cost efficiency.
