A beautiful boutique hotel situated on the Garden Route, on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay is looking for a 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗙 to join their team.


This small Boutique Hotel has accommodation for up to 26 Hotel guests and 40 restaurant guests. We are seeking a passionate, skilled chef to create delicious meals for their guests. You will be very involved in planning of their menu, ensuring that each dish is nutritious and cost-effective, and collaborating with a small team of kitchen staff to deliver food that meets the highest quality standards.

Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Be involved in planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, guest dietaries and availability of seasonal ingredients.
    Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment and placing orders to replenish stock.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
  • Planning budget friendly staff meals
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum education level: Grade 12 plus culinary qualification and experience
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Own transport: preferable
  • Able to do menu costing and budgeting
  • Strong leadership abilities
This is a live-in position, board and lodging supplied.
