Qualifications/Requirements: Punctual, effective communication, some experience in event setup or hospitality, strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift and move heavy items, including tables and chairs.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Banquet Houseperson must have the ability to focus on efficient and courteous food and beverage service. Must be self-motivated and possess good lifting skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule required. Work with the Banquet Team to ensure a successful and well-coordinated event. Ensure the complete set-up and tear down of banquet functions and special events. Maintain all banquet equipment and banquet space.
THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB ARE:
• Read and interpret BEO’s for set up and service of each day’s functions.
• Set-up meeting rooms based on information noted on BEO. Follow instructions given by Banquet Manager, Assistant Banquet Manager and Captains. Assist with meal functions. Refresh meeting rooms.
• Clean meeting rooms and front and back of house. Perform various cleaning activities as needed.
• Handle all guest contact requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Clean/organize storage areas frequently. Take care to ensure equipment is handled safely. Report maintenance needs to Banquet Manager.
• In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Banquet Manager, Assist. Banquet Manager, Banquet Captain, and the Food & Beverage Director based upon the particular requirements of the Hotel.

EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent – Required
California Food Handlers / ServSafe Certification – Required
State approved Certification Alcohol management - Required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Proficiency in using various computer software programs and general office equipment
• Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:
Minimum 6-months of banquet experience required; hospitality experience preferred.
