Description

SUMMARY:

The Back Waiter supports the Front of House (FOH) in various aspects and acts as liason between the FOH staff and Back of House (BOH) staff. A Back Waiter is responsible for ensuring that all products leaving the kitchen meets and or exceeds company standards. The Back Waiter will assist in stocking, cleaning, and other basic side work tasks while upholding the FOH service standards. The Back Waiter must help maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. The Back Waiter will assist the server in providing excellent customer service to the guests of the food outlets of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • The main objective of the Back Waiter is to control the flow of food coming from the kitchen to the Guests tables.
  • Assist the servers in the delivering of the entrée dishes to the guests with the use of a gueridon.
  • Equip the gueridons with all proper tools needed to ensure the highest quality of Guests service is strived for.
  • Assume the responsibility for ensuring the plates are properly organized on the gueridon according to the food ticket by utilizing the seat numbers to avoid “auctioning” food to the guests when at the table.
  • Ensure that products leaving the kitchen are properly plated with all necessary utensils required.
  • Inspect the plates for correct items to accompany food such as lemons for fish, pasta spoons, steak knives, etc.
  • Must have a knowledge of the menu and daily sheets in order to assist with the guest inquiries/requests as well as be able to accurately identify food and beverage items.
  • Assist with the requests from Guests when modifications are made to all food items.
  • Help to maintain that large and small oval trays are set up with linens and clean.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi -task in a fast paced environment.
  • Clear tables of plates, glasses, cups, and silverware as required.
  • Stock shelves with linen and silverware.
  • Keep your line area clean and organized.
  • Communicate the needs to the FOH and BOH staff in a clear and respectful manner.
  • Follow the established uniform standards as established by the CCRH management.
  • Ensure that established hygiene and food safety requirements established by ServSafe National Restaurant Association, along with local regulatory requirements.
  • Empty trash as needed.
  • Sweep floors to keep clear of debris.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Coeur d’Alene tribal gaming license required..
  • Six months previous food and beverage experience required.                                                                                  

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong presentation and organization skills required.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions precisely.
