Assistant Maintenance Supervisor (Bilingual: Spanish)

Full Time

$22-25/Hour

Schedule: 3 PM-11 PM

Location: Summer Bay Resorts

Job Summary:  

The Engineering Supervisor will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and Chief Engineer and will be responsible for the supervision of all staff members in maintaining and repairing all facilities, equipment, machinery, and operational systems that are within the responsibility of the department.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Will assist in the direction, review, counsel, and discipline off all staff members in the department in order to ensure compliance with the Resort’s and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
• Directly supervise the maintenance of all electrical, AC systems, pools, motors, kitchen equipment, and assist in maintenance schedules, O.S.H.A reports and compliance, minor construction, waste management and energy controls.
• Will be responsible for room maintenance and inspection to ensure those rooms and its equipment is in perfect working order as well as public area facilities and equipment.
• Must maintain the inventory of all equipment and materials needed in the department including the requisition to purchase any materials or equipment required. Will also ensure that storage rooms and all work areas are well maintained, kept clean and organized.
• Must continuously inspect all Resort facilities and equipment and keep detailed logbooks or maintenance schedules of the entire Resort and all of its equipment.
• Assume, as needed, a Departmental Manager on duty responsibility when assigned, as well as any other task as required by the Assistant General Manager of Chief Engineer.
• The position requires physical activities including but not limited to working on foot at all times and continuous walking throughout all of the facilities.
• Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, follow diagrams and blueprints of the Resort and facilities.
• Must perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• General Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing Systems.
• Must be updated in current trends in energy conservation and computer technology.
• 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role in engineering at a hotel, resort or repair service industry is highly preferred.
• HVAC certification is preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Must be punctual, dependable and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• CPO Certification is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladder.
• Must be able to frequently drive, bend, crouch and kneel.
