Job Description


The Assistant Hotel Manager will assist the Senior Director of Hotel Operations in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable guest experience. The Assistant Hotel Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing hotel operations, resolving guest issues, and implementing strategies to improve hotel performance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a strong customer service orientation, and a passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily hotel operations, ensuring that all departments function smoothly.
  • Supervise front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance team members.
  • Ensure adherence to brand standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering of supplies and materials as needed.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any issues during their stay.
  • Implement feedback systems to continuously improve the quality of service.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire team members, fostering a positive, high-performance work environment where team members are motivated to excel and deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Ensuring team members are thoroughly trained in hotel procedures, brand standards, and customer service expectations.
  • Provide continuous coaching and constructive feedback to team members, empowering them to grow professionally and improve performance.
  • Manage team member schedules effectively, ensuring adequate coverage while maintaining labor cost controls and employee satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing hotel budgets, including monitoring expenses, managing costs, and helping to achieve revenue targets.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures and assist with financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and assist in the preparation for inspections.
  • Address any operational safety concerns to maintain a safe environment for both guests and team members.
  • Assist with marketing and promotional efforts to drive occupancy rates and improve hotel visibility.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and online reviews, implementing strategies to address feedback and improve overall reputation.
  • Assist with special projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain administrative records and assist in preparing reports related to hotel performance, staffing, and guest satisfaction.

Skills / Experience

  • College degree and/or some college with a focus on Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in hotel operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory hotel management position or similar.
  • Proven track record of improving operational performance and delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Knowledge of hotel management systems such as Opera, Protel, and/or similar hotel management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and guest preferences.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing guest needs and business demands.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration Card.
  • The ability to submit to a background check and drug test is required.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Proficient use of a computer, including keyboarding and mouse skills.
  • Ability to lift or maneuver at least twenty (20) pounds.
