Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a leading role in supporting, building and making efficient development and delivery for the CWT Hotel Platform for the Hotel Product and Technology group. This position requires an individual with an urge to solve problems, deep experience in DevOps practices, Agile, and and a drive to experiment with new technologies.  In addition, the position will require mentorship of all members of the engineering teams to improve all aspects of the engineering team’s work. This candidate will be embedded with the engineering team and participate in Agile development efforts.

      Participate in and lead architecture reviews and technology standards definition

      Lead efforts to find, implement and support new DevOps technologies, frameworks, and standards and systems

      Develop systems and architecture to support agile software development lifecycle

      Experiment with, implement and propose new operational processes and technologies

      Assist in development, bugfixes and tech debt

      Anticipate technical and product direction in order set up product and engineering teams for success in future development

      Coordinate with Application Middleware teams to build out release, deployment and bugfix pipelines

      Provide Tier 3 production support

      Participate in and develop an agile software development process

 

 

      Java, Node.js, Angular

      Database technologies, e.g. NoSQL, document store, and relational

      Messaging technologies, e.g. Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ

      Monitoring, logging and analytics tools such as ELK, Solar Winds, Pager Duty

 

      Linux/Unix

      AWS / Rackspace / public and private cloud technologies

      Designing for scalable architecture

      Docker, Kubernetes, immutable infrastructure

      Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines

 

      Jira

      B.S preferred, in Computer Science of related discipline

      5+ years of experience in a full-time development and/or operations role.

      B.S. preferred, in Computer Science or related discipline

      Software Engineering

      Agile experience
