Job Description

Every memorable dining experience at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire begins behind the scenes with our culinary team’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine. Your passion for managing food preparation as the Second Cook, will inspire your team to create truly spectacular fare.

What you will be doing:

• Offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service consistently while supporting fellow Colleagues
• Prepare and service all food items for a la carte including buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
• Share ideas, opinions and suggestions actively
• Maintain proper rotation of product to minimize wastage/spoilage
• Knowledgeable of all menu items, daily features and promotions
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Please note: The start date for this role will be in July, with an end date of September 30th, 2025

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Minimum of 2 years' culinary experience in a similar setting is required 
• Food Handler Certificate Alberta is required
• Actively working towards Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent is an asset
• Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities ensuring guest needs met while remaining calm and courteous 
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
