Join the opening team for the Holiday inn Express Toronto Downtown. Located in Toronto's vibrant downtown, hotel is just stepping away from the Jarvis and Church Street car stations, providing easy access to the Toronto Financial District.
The Holiday Inn Express Toronto Downtown is ideally situated near the Business, Financial, Entertainment, and Shopping Districts. You’ll find over 50 unique dining experiences and major attractions such as Ripley’s Aquarium, the CN Tower, the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Distillery District, St. Lawrence Market, Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and the CF Toronto Eaton Centre, Toronto's largest shopping mall, all within a short walk.

THE ROLE:

BECOME A PART OF A DYNAMIC TEAM -The Hotel Sales Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the DOSM and Sales Manager in the implementation of the hotel’s sales strategies via file follow up, data maintenance and clerical duties while promoting guestroom and event services to maximize overall hotel revenue.

 

ACTIVITIES:

The duties of the Sales Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains and updates key sales programs, procedures, reports and services.
  • Supports sales strategies with e-mail campaigns, collateral development
  • Participates in monthly sales strategy sessions by providing input, taking minutes, updating action plans and distributing.
  • Coordinate and manage all onsite groups.
  • Preparation, sending and distribution of sales contracts, co-ordinate and follow-up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of promised services as originally agreed upon.
  • Maintains lost business, cancellation and lead/referral files by distributing to sales manager.
  • Quotes and negotiates prices within established parameters.
  • Maintains and adheres to Booking guidelines and Group Booking Approval process in order to book business in the best interests of the hotel. Ensure sales agreements entered into with the hotel and the client are in keeping with Sales Operating Procedures, hotel policies and Company Account standards.
  • Actively acquire new business and maintain existing accounts through prospecting, planned sales calls, and solicitation
  • Develop and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group business for room sales.
  • Be independently responsible for achievement of all objectives outlined in the action plans and budget.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in sites inspections and industry / trade functions and shows.
  • Utilize Property Sales System to track, solicit and follow up on accounts.
  • Participate in prescribed Hotel/Brand training and special projects.
  • Ensure effective yield management for group bookings produced and contracted.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Ensures that current and prospective databases are maintained, current and accessible.
  • Assists and supports the Director of Sales and the Sales Manager with any initiatives required to ensure the ongoing success of the hotel.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned by the DOSM

 

 

 

 

 

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Diploma in Hotel Management Studies
  • IHG experience a definite asset
  • Previous 1-2 years professional experience in the hotel market
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of computer programs
  • Dynamic temperament and exceptional organizational and communication skills
