Description

Protrans Personnel Services Inc. is seeking a proactive and detailed-oriented Return-to-Work (RTW) Specialist to join our team. This position will be based out of our head office in Dieppe, NB or remotely from Ontario. 

In this role, the RTW Specialist will report to the Human Resources Director and will be the primary company liaison for employees on medical leave, ensuring a smooth and safe return-to-work process while driving continuous improvement in disability management programs, with a strategic focus to reduce recordable and lost time incidents. The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taker who likes problem solving, is driven to identify continuous improvement opportunities and enjoys a challenge.



Responsibilities

•    Act as the central point of contact between employees on leave and Irving Health Services Disability Managers
•    Complete employer documentation (STD, WCB forms, payroll details, functional job descriptions) to minimize delays
•    Coordinate safe and timely return to work plans, including accommodations, progress reports and compliance with provincial/state WCB requirements
•    Review and enhance departmental return to work programs to reduce lost-time incidents
•    Liaise with provincial and state workers’ compensation boards and manage related documentation 
•    Develop and maintain leave practices for occupation and non-occupational illness/injury (e.g. sick leave, WCB, STD, LTD, FMLA)
 



Qualifications

•    Post-secondary education in one of the following: 
o    Disability Management
o    Health Sciences (nursing, physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy)
o    Social Work/Sociology
o    Vocational Rehabilitation
o    Psychology/Counselling

•    2 to 5 years’ experience in return to work, disability management, vocational rehabilitation or alternate dispute resolution
•    Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational, communication and time management skills
•    Ability to multitask while remaining flexible and managing shifting priorities
•    Professional demeanor and confidentiality are a must
•    Excellent computer skills and proficient knowledge of MS Office
•    Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset
