Room for advancement in our growing company Be part of western Canada's fastest-growing hospitality brand A hands-on people focused Basecamp culture   Position Overview  The Overnight Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep and daily maintenance of a 99-room hotel and an attached Nordic spa facility during the night whilst guests rest and recharge. This role ensures that all guest rooms, spa amenities, public areas, and back-of-house systems are functioning efficiently, safely, and in accordance with health, safety, and operational standards. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, preventative tasks, and emergency repairs across a variety of systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, sauna operations, and kitchen equipment.     Location: Canmore Shifts: Full-time, permanent, weekdays and weekends. Wage: $23 per hour   Key Responsibilities   Maintenance & Facilities Operations Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) Perform nightly maintenance tasks to ensure the spa and hotel facilities are clean, safe, and fully operational for the next day. (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping) Complete scheduled maintenance and minor repairs (lighting, plumbing, fixtures, equipment). Conduct routine inspections of the property, identifying and addressing maintenance or safety issues as needed. Handle emergency maintenance situations calmly and efficiently Coordinate with any overnight trades Perform assigned duties or special projects as prioritized by GM, senior management and ownership.   Pool & Spa Operations Check Pool and Hot tub water chemistry. Backwash/Drain & Fill if Needed Perform pool and Hot tub cleaning (vacuuming, cleaning skimmer basket and scum lines) Cover or uncover the hot tub and pool according to safety and operational standards.   Safety, Security & Communication Perform regular security rounds throughout the property to ensure guest and staff safety. Lock and secure all doors, gates, and restricted-access areas at designated times. Respond promptly to maintenance or security-related issues that arise during the night shift. Maintain clear communication with management regarding completed tasks, incidents, or concerns.   Requirements   High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a related trade is a plus (CPO,First Aid, WHMIS) Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance or facilities management (hotel/spa setting preferred) Being a certificed pool operator is an asset but not required. Familiarity with pool and hot tub systems, and water chemistry Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks in all weather conditions Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently Must be available for on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Being reliable, detail orientated and safety focused       Basecamp Resorts is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to building a workplace that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all.
