Job Purpose:
To partner with the Sales & Marketing
team in order to fulfil the Marketing and PR objectives outlined in The Lowry
Hotel's Sales and Marketing Plan. The Marketing Manager will participate
in every aspect of the marketing function, including public/media relations,
design and print production, direct mail and e-marketing, award submissions,
advertising, websites, promotion, product development, sponsorship, and
research.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:
MARKETING
- Working
with all departments to formulate marketing activities, promotions and plans
- Assist
in the continuous Implementation of the Brand guidelines for The Lowry Hotel and its
outlets
- Assisting
in the management of the production of marketing materials,including brochures,
menus, stationery items, leaflets, posters and flyers
- Obtain
the sign off of all printed materials for The Lowry Hotel from DOS and GM
- Assist
in stock control of all marketing materials
- Arranging
for the effective distribution of marketing materials
- Assisting
in the maintenance of The Lowry Hotel and its outlets mailing databases
- Actively
encourage, support & drive the growth of the hotel database across all areas
- Assisting
in the organisation and attending events and exhibitions both at
The Lowry Hotel and externally
- Monitoring
competitor activity and marketing trends and assist
in carrying out market research and customer surveys.
- Develop,
implement, and maintain an Influencer strategy for The Lowry Hotel and its’
outlets
- Complete
the monthly PR & Marketing owners report and any other reports for the
Senior Team or Owners of the Hotel
PROMOTIONS AND WEB BASED MARKETING
- Maintain
web-based advertising activity i.e., google advertising and banner advertising on
third party sites
- Administer
the local newsletters for The Lowry Hotel and its outlets
- Administer
the promotions calendar for The Lowry Hotel and its outlets
- To
monitor all mentions of The Lowry Hotel on external websites and to ensure that the
information is up to date and relevant and assist
in placing competitions in media and other high-profile events
GENERAL DUTIES
- To
host/co-host media site visits and familiarisation trips
- To
work with community and business organisations, local businesses and charities, in the
development of a successful community relations plan
- To
attend commercial, revenue & sales meetings and other meetings as per hotel
meeting schedule or as requested by Head of Department and any other member of the
Executive Management
- To
submit an annual PR and Marketing plan to the Director of Sales and Marketing
- To
guide and mentor the Marketing Executive and Social Media Content Creator assistant
and to provide day to day duties for completion PR
- To
manage in the development and implementation of the annual Marketing and PR
plan working with each outlet of The Lowry Hotel to include: Rooms division,
Conference and Banqueting, The River Bar and Restaurant and The Lowry Spa.
- Generate
and maintain effective relationships with key media in the local and regional
area as well as the PR Representation company retained by The Lowry Hotel.
- To
lead in identifying, sourcing and generating interesting and topical news
stories and maximise publicity within local, regional and national media,
building and maintaining good relations with key journalists.
- To
write and distribute media releases relating to The Lowry Hotel and its
outlets.
- To
maintain and manage a press database.
- To
lead in the creation and administration of a press newsletter to local
publications and a press bank of information through collaboration with our PR
agency.
- To
ensure set targets of media coverage and to measure, report on the amount of
media coverage gained in equivalent advertising costs.
- To
collaborate with outside agencies on joint initiatives to maximise PR opportunities
including Preferred Hotels and Resorts and assist with the management of all high-profile events that take place at The Lowry Hotel.
DETAILS OF SPECIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
NEEDED:
- Proven
experience in marketing or public relations
- Strong
writing and organisational skills
- Capable
of managing many activities and prioritising assignments.
- Proficient
in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with
experience in DTP and Photoshop.
- Hospitality experiance (prefered)
