Key objectives:
- Responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, meeting space, restaurant, bar, and common areas.
- Responsible for delivering the planned and re-active maintenance activities with minimum impact to guests and within agreed budget controls and timeframes.
- Responsibility for all Health & Safety aspects ensuring that guests, customers, and employees are kept safe at all times and any concerns highlighted are managed effectively and efficiently.
- Building and maintaining relationships with the key stakeholders ensuring that a quality service is provided by the engineering department to our colleagues & guests.
- To be fully involved in identifying opportunities for Energy Management, educating others along this journey so that all employees become aware of energy wastage.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for upkeep and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, restaurant, bar and grounds.
- Responds to all maintenance concerns.
- Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance projects.
- Responds to all building related safety concerns.
- Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures.
- Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
- Assist management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations.
- Deals with guest related concerns.
- Maintain the guest rooms, public space, and back of the hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Previous Experience within a similar role in the Hospitality Industry is desirable
- Able to demonstrate sound maintenance and electrical knowledge.
- Must possess knowledge of basic hand/power tool operation.
- Health and safety and risk assessment experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience of dealing with people at all levels.
