REPORTING
The Maintenance Electrician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. He or she is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and maintaining machines and electrical equipment and devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Check, report, repair any and all equipment failures
- Troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, and maintain all electrical equipment and devices related to the production equipment and /or building electrical requirements in a safe manner
- Design, specify and build electrical circuits and controls for the purposes of continuous improvement of all electrical equipment and plant functions.
- Product handling equipment set-ups and repairs
- Size and run conduit and connect wires to various electrical equipment and plant components
- Diagnose machine problems
- Responsible for general housekeeping in the plant interior and exterior
- Responsible for procedural plant shut-downs and start-ups
- Documenting equipment failure & performance, communicate potential problems
- Ensure health & safety standards are met at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
- Industrial Electrician License
- Working knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical Controls and PLCs
- Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge
- Must have successfully completed grade 12 level of education
- 2 – 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work within a team oriented environment
