Hotel Covington is looking for a Lobby Porter to provide excellent guest service in Housekeeping at Hotel Covington.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Keep all guest corridors neat, vacuumed and dusted.
- Make sure mirrors, furniture, floors, ashtrays, elevator landing stairwells and linen storage rooms are clean.
- Remove all trash from areas.
- Sort linen for washing.
- Move racks of clean linen to guest room floors.
- Stock linen storage room.
- Sort clean linen.
- Deep clean floors of lobby, elevators, public areas, guest rooms, locker rooms, guest corridors, offices, event space, fitness club and other service areas.
- Keep all work areas clean, organized and stocked
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- Must have a high school education or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel services environment
SERVICE
- Anticipate and deliver exceptional service consistently
- Intuitively service each guest, associate, visitor or client
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on the details
- Follow instinct and use her/his best judgment to create experiences for guests that are thoughtful and genuine
- Greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the hotel

- Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate
- Partake in a positive work ethic and surrounding environment
STANDARDS
- Able to work alone without direct supervision
- Demonstrate high degree of drive and determination
- Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation
- Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times
- Attend all required meetings
- Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
- Properly handle and report associate and guest accidents
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental polices/service procedures/standards
- Assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demand:
- Continuous standing 100% of the shift
- Inside 100% of the shift
- Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying required up to 100 lbs. or more. Carts may be pulled up to 75 feet.
- Bending/kneeling required 70% of shift
- Mobile position required 100% of the time
